Other gods part 3: Only one God

Greetings Conquerors, welcome to this final part of the series on Other gods. In part 2 we discussed the existence of other gods in ancient and biblical history. In this final part we conclude by proving that there is only one God Almighty. The Lord God himself.

Existence of other gods has been seen in scripture. Sadly although mankind refered to them as gods (and still does today), by nature they are not gods as scripture says in Galatians 4:8

“Howbeit then, when ye knew not God, ye did service unto them which by nature are no gods.”

The fact of the matter is that the soul naturally yearns to worship its maker and the spirit of God inside hungers for its source. The devil manipulates this void to feed unsuspecting and ignorant individuals with various expressions of seemingly deity beings so that the people of God are lured into idol worship. When power is manifested in acts of witchcraft, healings, magic and prophecy the ignorant are quick to associate this with the Godhead, infact that is how presence or absence of God is can be judged most times. Afterall there is evidence of the supernatural! It becomes hard for a christian who is walking in the shackles of bondage in witchcraft, misfortune, cycles of rejection or poverty etc to adopt the simplicity that is in Christ. The real crunch of the matter is that strongholds in the mind based on the deceptions of the evil one do not die in a day’s work. So man that is learning to walk positively in love, good, faith and belief in God faces negative forces in hate, evil, fear and unbelief right on the flip side because the line is thin. Where a christian may think they are on the postitive lane, they may find out after many wasted years that they have been much on the flipside entertaining fear, evil, hate, and unbelief unknowingly necessitating the assignement for demonic torment or oppression.

Moreover man finds it hard to believe in the absolute love of God which is simple and always tries to seek means and ways of gaining and acquiring this love which is freely given. The demonic entities that pause as gods are very good at manipulating man into believing that his efforts at worship and service to them are rewarded with power, rank and promotion, attaining certain levels of religiousness. It is no secret that pride and power are the epitome of these anti-christ religions. Unfortunately this mindset has taken the church by storm.

When talking to the Galatians, Paul questions why they have gone back to their old ways, to the beggarly elements and spirits of bondage (Galatians 4.9). He asks “Oh ye foolish Galatians, who has bewitched you”. Two things are significant here,

1. Foolishness

2. Witchcraft.

Evidently, foolishness opened the door for witchcraft. Witchcraft is spiritual manipulation and here the Galatians are in a state of being manipulated spiritually because they do not have the right wisdom. They depend on demonic wisdom which is foolish and obtained from diviners, charmers, mediums and observers of times, wizards, necromancers, enchanters, witches, sorcerors, astrologers or fortune tellers etc (Deuteronomy 19.14; Deuteronomy 18:10-14; Isaiah 8:19; Leviticus 20:6). This is the forbidden worship of the created/creation instead of the creator (Romans 1:25). Sadly, the actual fact is that creation is waiting for the manifestation of the sons of God (Romans 8:19). What’s worse is that like many Christians today, the Galatians had accepted Christ as Lord but where not living in the ways of God or inquiring from the Lord.

While some christians get caught up in false doctrines because of ignorance, some choose it for personal gain either spiritually, emotionally or financially while yet others are forced into it by trickery and wickedness. These factors or interests interfere with and pevert their discerning faculties into accepting anything that seems spiritual as of God when it is actually the devil and his team masquerading as angels of light (2 Corinthians 11:14). This is what has brought falsehoods and doctrines of devils into the Church even today. It is all rooted in curious imaginations/inventions and sensuality (Psalm 106). These are works of the flesh that seek to edify the body and not the spirit. Paul instructs the body of Christ to nip this problem at the level of knowledge indicating that it is the attainment of certain knowledge leading to imaginations that misleads people from true worship of God. In 2 Corinthians 10:5-6, the apostle writes,

“Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.”

Therefore, it remains for the christian to win the war by obedience to God himself, the one true God,

For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,) But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him. Howbeit there is not in every man that knowledge:

1 Corinthians 8:5-7

I have seen people make gods of anything that seems to possess deep knowledge, secret knowledge and even biblical knowledge e.g pastors, prophets, white/red garment prophets, n’angas, seers, fortune tellers, astrologers etc. Some have gone the extra mile and worshipped their religious acts or abilities e.g prayer or spiritual warfare so-called putting their faith in the ‘act’ and not in God. Furtherstill, idolatry has been evident in the negative emotions people harbour e.g rejection, bitterness, rebellion, unforgiveness, anger and even pride etc all of which make an individual their own god and final authority in their life.

James declared that resisting the devil would certainly cause him to flee (James 4:7). The deception is sometimes so intense that Christians pervert prayer to a point where they enter the prayer room to pray to God but end up wasting hours attending and talking to the devil.

Therefore, my encouragement to you today is to focus on wisdom from above which God will and can only confirm because it is his Word not wisdom from the earth (elementary spirits precisely- occult, apostolic sects, witchcraft, black or white magic etc) which has been destined to fail by the maker and owner of all things. He ordained it to fail, it therefore cannot be trusted or feared ( I Corinthians 1:19-20). It is defeated wisdom and the believer who knows who they worship should not be intimidated by it or it’s miracles and lying wonders. A concerntration on the works of darkness, a fear of it amounts to a belief thereof and God turns his back on such, then the Christian wonders why things are not working…Choose light, believe, light and live in the light. Christ the wisdom of God reigns! Worship the creator not the creation!

Thank you for reading this post,

Till then

One Love
